The Escola Superior de Saúde do Alcoitão (ESSAlcoitão) is a private higher education institution established by the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa (SCML). It is a pioneer in Portugal in training Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Therapists and is widely recognized as a leading school in this field.
ESSAlcoitão offers undergraduate, master's, and post-graduate programs in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy. These programs are designed to align with the Bologna Process and have been taught using the highest quality standards since the 2008-2009 academic year. The curriculum is balanced between academic and practical components, with a strong emphasis on hands-on experience from the very beginning of the courses.
